When we first went to Namibia in 1992 we were overwhelmed by the place. Its somewhere that you will keep returning to and if you had to pick one country in the world that summed up the self-drive movement it would be Namibia.
It contains all the elements that go to make an ideal driving destination; world-class scenery, good safety, welcoming local people, unique game viewing, political stability, great climate, good value safari lodges and camps, many car hire options, ease of access, low population density, wide-open spaces to get away from everyone and even a stable currency. What more could you ask for?
